First day of school donuts

My Dad would go pick up donuts for the family on the morning of the first day of school when I was growing up, and it became a fun first day of school tradition. I remember one year when my parents went all out and had these donut letters in our school colors.

You can make a first day of school tradition with pretty much any type of food, this is just what my family did. Usually the morning of the first day is so hectic, so something already made was a sweet treat without much extra hassle.
